アフガニスタンの駐パキスタン大使が消息を絶った

アフガニスタンの駐パキスタン大使Tariq Azizuddin氏が、アフガン国境の町Torkhamに向かう途中で、自動車の運転手と共に行方不明になった。

どこからも犯行声明は出ていないが、パキスタン当局は誘拐事件と判断している。

大使はジャララバードに立ち寄ってから、カブールに向かうつもりで陸路を選んだ模様。

Tariq Azizuddin, Pakistan’s ambassador to Afghanistan, went missing on Monday in Khyber Agency along with his driver and security guard while driving to the Torkham border town on his way to Kabul.

It was widely believed that he had been abducted in the area between Jamrud and Ali Masjid, the patch of mountainous tribal territory notorious for past kidnappings. However, no group or individual has claimed responsibility for abducting the ambassador. There was also no information that the kidnappers had contacted his family or any government official to convey ransom or other demands.
